Health and Safety Information in the light of Covid 19.

We reopened Hartfield Early Education on Monday 19th April.

For everyone’s safety we decided to adopt a cautious approach.

Classes and Play sessions are limited to small family ‘bubbles’.

The ‘bubbles’ are up to eight enrolled children and one accompanying adult

Adults attending are asked to:

  •  Wait outside until we open the door 5 minutes before the class/ play session

  •  Wear face coverings whilst in the centre

  •  Sanitise their hands upon arrival and sanitise or wash their child’s hands

  •  Have their temperature, and that of their child, taken (non-contact) upon arrival

  •  Keep their personal belongings apart from others – we provide boxes for shoes and bags.

  •  Keep a social distance from others

  •  Discourage their children from putting toys in their mouths or sharing items from their individual story sacks.

  •  Ensure we have up to date contact information

  •  If another adult brings the child to class, ensure they have read these guidelines and that we are given contact information for them.

  •  Stay at home if they, or anyone they have been in contact with, have COVID 19 symptoms and inform Hartfield as soon as possible.

We have carefully considered available guidance and best practice and have adopted specific health and safety practices in the light of COVID 19. The following precautions are a summary:

  •  Classes/ play sessions will be limited in size to minimise contact to a small ‘bubble’

  •  No additional adults or older children will attend classes

  •  All adults will wear face coverings. Teachers will wear visors so that the children can see their faces.

  •  Everyone will have their temperature taken on arrival

  •  All adults will be asked to use a hand sanitiser on arrival and to sanitise or wash their child’s hands. Sanitisers will be made available at several points in the centre.

  •  Friendly signs draw attention to essential health and hygiene practices

  •  For people using the Covid app, there is a poster displaying our QR code

  •  Windows and doors will be open where possible

  •  The centre has been reorganised and hard to clean furnishings and toys removed.

  •  Surfaces, equipment and toys will be cleaned between classes with special attention to door handles.

  •  The centre will be cleaned again at the end of every day

Class structures have been changed.

  •  Topic calendar adjusted and topic resources reviewed

  •  Children’s individual story resources removed for cleaning after each class.

  •  Singing will be minimised to ‘quiet’ singing

  •  Toys will be cleaned between classes

Procedures and the detailed risk assessment will be regularly reviewed and updated.
